Jewish Life
JCC Harlem is proud to be a hub of Jewish life in Harlem. We offer diverse opportunities for people to engage Jewishly within and beyond our four walls.

Reflective, Connective Jewish Community in Harlem

Recognizing that there isn’t one way to do or be Jewish, we strive to keep our doors and minds open to Jewish programming and ideas of all denominations, cultures, identities, and philosophies. We offer experiences that celebrate Jewish traditions, values, and holidays in an inclusive and modern way, while also creating spaces for our varied group of neighborhood and community partners to demonstrate their own unique vision and priorities for urban life.

HIGH HOLIDAYS

Every year, we are proud to offer financially and religiously accessible, family-friendly High Holiday services. Regardless of your level of observance, denominational knowledge, or religious background, we hope that you will find our services to be a meaningful and engaging experience.

JEWISH LEARNING

Jewish Journeys offers flexible, online Jewish education for Grades 1-7. Fall classes include JBrick (Building Israel with LEGOS), Dungeons and Dreidels, Jewish History through Minecraft, and more!

We are so pleased to share with you the Harlem Holiday Companion Project, a collection of Torah thoughts and reflections from a diverse set of voices in our Harlem community, paired with illustrative imagery, which centers holidays in the Jewish calendar.

JEWISH RITUAL

We partner with many Jewish organizations throughout Harlem and Upper Manhattan in order to create a holistic Jewish community that feels accessible to people of all identities. Our partners in Jewish Life include:
